Now Jharkhand annuls general consent to CBI
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Just a day after Kerala cancelled the general consent granted to CBI for investigations in the state, Jharkhand has come with the same decision to become the 8th state in the country to do so.
The notification issued by the state government on Thursday said that the Government of Jharkhand thereby withdrew the consent accorded to the members of Delhi Special Police Establishment (CBI).
On Wednesday, the Kerala Government withdrew the general consent granted to the central agency to investigate cases in the state.
Last month, the Government of Maharashtra had withdrawn the 'general consent'. In July this year, the Rajasthan Government had withdrawn its general consent. Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal governments had withdrawn the consent in 2018 itself.
