None could use terror to force India to negotiation table: Minister

Nicosia/Cyprus: Seen as a veiled attack on Pakistan, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday that none could use terrorism to force India to negotiate, Asian News International reported.

In Cyprus, without mentioning Pakistan, he said that India would not normalize or allow terrorism. It wishes good neighbourly relations with everyone, but the same does not mean looking away or rationalizing terrorism, the minister clarified.

He then said that the second course is India's borders, which have challenges, and they increased during the Covid-19 period too. Tie with China is normal, which is because India would not allow changes to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) unilaterally.

"So on the foreign policy side, on the national security side, I can share with you a picture of firmness on diplomacy, on foreign policy, because that is something which I am," ANI quoted Jaishankar.

New Delhi is the one that solves the problems, and India is seen as an independent nation with a strong economy, he said.

Later Jaishankar said that India is negotiating agreements with Cyprus, namely defence operations cooperation, migration and mobility agreement, as well as agreement on International Solar Alliance.
