Mumbai: As a solid retort to BJP leader and Union minister Narayan Rane, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut warned him of exposing BJP's "system of extortion" in Mumbai if they do not stop issuing threats against Shiv Sena and its leaders, NDTV reported.

Rane had said on Friday that an Enforcement Directorate raid is waiting for four persons in Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's private residence, i.e. the CM's family. Raut said that Rane might be a Union Minister, but he should not forget that it is Maharashtra. "We are your 'baap (father)', you very well know what that means," he added.

"Narayan Rane is threatening us that he has our horoscope...We too have your horoscope," he said.

Further, the Sena MP addressed Kirit Somaiya that if he gave evidence against Raut, he would also do the same against Kirit and added that Kirit need not threaten him. Kirit is another BJP MP who has been trading attacks with Raut recently. Raut had claimed that he has evidence that Kirit is involved in corruption to the tune of Rs 300 Crore, and he has used Home Minister Amit Shah's name for extortion. This was through a slum rehabilitation project at Peru Baug in Powai.

On Saturday, Raut alleged that there is work going on Kirit's Rs 260 crore project in Palghar, under his son's name and his wife, the project director. Raut asked how Kirit amassed such money.

Earlier on Saturday, Raut had tweeted three questions on the Palghar project and tagged Prime Minister's Office.

Raut accused the Union BJP government of misusing investigating agencies to overturn the Maharashtra government, targeting leaders and their families in the state. He had written Union Vice President detailing the same and also claimed that probe agencies are forcing false confessions against him out of people with whom he had business with.
