NIA raids Dr.Zafarul Islam Khan's residence
text_fieldsNew Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided the residence of former Chief of Delhi Minority Commission, Zafar Islam Khan, in a terror funding case on Thursday.
Centres of Falah-e-Aam Trust, Charity Alliance, Human Welfare Foundation, J&K Yateem Foundation, Salvation Movement, and J&K Voice of Victims are the six NGO's raided by NIA, continues the search in nine places since yesterday.
Today they have continued search operation at 10 locations in Srinagar and one in Bengaluru in connection with the case in which some non-profit organizations are suspected of raising funds in India and abroad for carrying out separatist activity in Jammu and Kashmir, according to sources.
Mr Khan was earlier charged with sedition for alleged hate speech posts on social media by Delhi police. He tweeted in favour of the campaign on against Islamophobia in India held in the Arab world. He also retweeted Kuwait's gratitude on his part.
He is the founding editor of the newspaper Milli Gazette and Chairman of Charity Alliance.
The NIA in a statement alleged that these NGOs have been getting money from undisclosed donors, which was then being used to fund terror activities.
