London: The person behind UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s success is his wife, said Sunak’s mother-in-law Sudha Murty.

In a footage circulating on social media Sudha Murty is heard saying that because of her daughter, Rishi Sunak became the youngest prime minister of UK, NDTV reported.

‘I made my husband a businessman. My daughter made her husband Prime Minister of the UK.’ Murty is heard saying.

Her husband Narayana Murthy, the founder of the Infosys tech company, is one of India's richest men.

Their daughter Akshata Murty, a powerful person herself with a personal fortune of around Pound 730 million, married Rishi Sunak in 2009, and before long Sunak made quick rise to power becoming the youngest Prime Minister of UK at age 42.

‘The reason is the glory of the wife. See how a wife can change a husband. But I could not change my husband. I made my husband a businessman, and my daughter made her husband a Prime Minister,’ Sudha Murty reportedly said in an Instagram post.

Sudha Murty said her daughter has influenced the prime minister's life in many ways, particularly his diet.

She waxed lyrical about her family’s long tradition of fasting on Thursdays and the day also turns out to them auspicious for starting new ventures and steps in life.
