New Delhi: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet the Union Oppositioneader to fix a strategy to take on the BJP, according to sources, NDTV reported. Mamata's will visit Delhi to discuss this matter this between November 22 and 25, right before the winter session of the Parliament is scheduled to take place on November 29. Some controversy is epected this time around as the government repeal of farm laws might take centre stage.

The three controversial farm laws led to 15 months of furious protests, unfortunate incidents and alleged death of 750 farmers. This was until Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the laws would be repealed. The formal process of doing it is likely in this Parliament session.

Following PM Modi's announcement, Mamata had congratulated protesting farmers on Twitter. She also paid her condolences to the families of the deceased farmers and hit BJP harshly for unleashing cruelty on protesters.

According to PTI, Mamata might also meet PM Modi to discuss the Union government's contentious increase of BSF jurisdiction. The Union government had increased BSF jurisdiction to 50km from the international border in Bengal, Punjab and Assam, which drew staunch criticism from the first two states. She had written PM last month, slamming the move as an attempt to interfere with the federal structure of the country.

Mamata's blazing victory in Bengal had prompted talks of her becoming the face of a unified national opposition against Modi and BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. She has also been talked about as a possible Prime Minister candidate.
