Mumbai: Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction leader Sanjay Raut suggested on Saturday that the BJP-led newly elected Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra must build an EVM temple and take out a procession of EVMs. Mocking the alliance, he suggested that the first cabinet meeting must make announcements about building the temple in front of the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, The Economic Times reported.

He said that the procession of the Chief Minister must be taken out at Nagpur, and before that, a procession of the EVMs should be carried out before the RSS headquarters, he said.

Slamming the new Devendra Fadnavis government over its cabinet’s incapabilities in decision-making, Raut said that there was anarchy in Maharashtra, claiming that murders and rapes are happening in the state.

"It has been a month since the new government was formed in this state, but it is not known who has which department. Murders and rapes are happening in villages of Maharashtra every day, the CM is unable to answer this. Anarchy has spread in Maharashtra. This government has been formed with EVMs; they do not have a brain; they have EVMs in their brains," ET quoted Raut.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance witnessed a landslide victory, winning 235 seats in the assembly. BJP had emerged as the single-largest party with 132 seats.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Fadnavis government’s cabinet expansion will take place on December 15, with new ministers taking the oath of office at a ceremony in Nagpur, according to official sources.

A senior BJP official told PTI on Friday that 30 to 32 ministers are expected to take oath.

The week-long winter session of the state legislature is slated to begin in Nagpur, Maharashtra's second capital, on December 16.
