Patna: In another pathetic episode with Indian Railways, AC coaches of a train were reportedly vandalized by Khumbh Mela pilgrims at the Madhubani Station of Bihar. Videos appeared on social media where people could be seen tightly packed inside the AC coach of the Swatantrata Senani Express and someone from outside breaking a sealed window glass onto a woman.
Video also showed frustrated passengers pelting stones and breaking train windows, The Indian Express reported.
The window-shattering instance sparked a heated argument between those inside the train and outside, the video shows.

According to what eyewitnesses told India Today, the AC coaches were tightly packed as devotees overcrowded it and prevented doors from opening. It is not clear whether those who occupied the AC compartments have valid tickets or not.

Passengers at Madhubani station tried to enter the train through windows, it is learned. Chaos continued even after the train left the station. It was reportedly targeted by Kumbh Mela devotees, even between Madhubani and Darbanga stations. They damaged windows from M1 to B5 and A1 on train number 1256. Large crowds boarded AC coaches at Samastipur station, too, India Today reported.

Videos gathered strong reactions from netizens.
“This is the height of mismanagement. Even though our people are lagging in terms of civic sense, they would not have the audacity to do such a thing. The system must work on arrangements on a war footing,” a user said.
Another commented, “Where are the railway cops? Is there any cop at the railway station?”
“Cancel all trains movement in Bihar for 10 days all these lunatics will fall in line,” a third user raged.
