Kerala politician PC George arrested on sexual assault complaint

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior political leader in Kerala and ex-MLA PC George got arrested on Saturday based on a sexual assault complaint filed by a solar-panel-case accused, PTI reported citing police.
However, Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Court 3 granted him bail, late in the evening.
NDTV reported that the complainant accused George of sexually assaulting her after inviting her to the Thycaud guest house in Thiruvananthapuram on February 10. She also alleged that after the incident, George continued to send inappropriate messages to her phone.
The Cantonment Police took George to custody from a guest house in Kerala's capital, where he was being interrogated by the Crime Branch on a conspiracy brewed against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The alleged conspiracy was linked with the gold-smuggling case with allegations from the accused in the case, Swapna Suresh. George has been charged with IPC Section 354 (a) (Sexual harassment).
