Karnataka Love Jihad case: Girl refuses to go with parents
text_fieldsHubbali: The Love Jihad case registered in Hubbali took a fresh turn on Thursday after the Hindu girl who married a Muslim boy refused to go with her parents, IANS reported.
The girl, Sneha, approached the police and said that she had married Ibrahim after falling in love with him and nobody had forced her. She added that she does not wish to go with her parents.
Earlier, after the girl went missing, Hindu organisations had protested before the police station in Hubballi as her parents, along with Hindu organisations, alleged that she was the victim of 'Love Jihad'. Also, Sri Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik had posted a deadline for the police to find her. Police later found the girl in Goa and brought her to Keshawapur police station in Hubbali for questioning.
At the police station, the parents of the girl talked with her, but she refused outright to go with them. Even after the parents told her that her grandmother git bedridden after she left, she didn't budge, police said.
Sneha informed police that she married Ibrahim on February 11 at the sub-registrar's office in the Gadag district. She has been in love with the man for the last six months and wishes to stay with him. Ibrahim's family have no knowledge about this, Sneha added.
