Kannada actress Chethana Raj dies after plastic surgery

Bangalore: Television actress Chethana Raj dies after undergoing a "fat-free" plastic surgery in a hospital here.

Raj was noted for her roles in shows including Geetha and Doresani.

The 21-year-old was admitted to Shetty's Cosmetic Centre in Rajajinagar for a plastic surgery.

The actress developed complications after fluid started accumulating in her lungs.

She died despite attempts to revive her.

Her parents lodged a complaint against doctors alleging negligence.

India Today reported that Chethana was taken to Kaade Hospital at 5.30 pm by anaethetist Melvin and doctors who performed plastic surgery on her.

Doctors at Kaade hospital were asked to treat her for cardiac arrest.

They could not revive her despite trying 45 minutes with CPR.

The hospital's ICU intensivist Dr Sandeep informed the police Chethana was declared dead at 6.45 pm.

Dr Sandeep reportedly mentioned the doctors at Cosmetic Centre were aware the actress had already been dead.
