India's situation is worse off than Sri Lanka: Mamata Banerjee on rocketing fuel price
text_fieldsKolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday came down hard on rocketing fuel prices in the country, saying that situation in India is worse off than Sri Lanka.
At a press conference here, Mamata Banerjee demanded the government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the situation rather than targeting its political opponents with agencies like the CBI and ED, according to Indian Express.
She blamed BJP for India's crisis, saying that Sri Lanka's economic crisis is bad where India's worse. Fuel price hike, according to her, is BJP's gift to the country after winning Uttar Pradesh polls.
Prices of commodities are going up from the impact of fuel prices hike, worsening the situation according to her.
CM Mamata Banerjee said that Governor Jagdeep Dhakhar was sitting on files related to appointments to key state government posts. Appointments of Lokayukta member, chairman of the Human Rights Commission and Right to Information commissioners have been waiting for his approval for six months.
She accused BJP of running a parallel government in non-BJP ruled states by appointing governors.
