India, Taliban-led Afghanistan discuss expanding agricultural cooperation

New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held talks on Wednesday with Afghanistan's Agriculture Minister Mawlawi Ataullah Omari to review ongoing agricultural collaboration between the two countries.
The bilateral meeting took place at the Pusa campus in New Delhi, where both sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the agriculture sector. Among the key issues was the proposed extension of the memorandum of understanding between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Afghan National Agricultural Science and Technology University beyond its current term, which is due to end in 2026.
The discussions were aimed at continuing scientific and technical collaboration in agricultural research and related fields between the two institutions.
