New Delhi: The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has declared Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) member Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir as a designated terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. The man of the Pakistan-based terror group was involved in the Pulwama attack of 2019, IANS reports.

Alamgir manages JeM's funds and routes them to Kashmir. He is also involved in facilitating the infiltration of his colleagues in Afghan and coordinating terror attacks on Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir.

Alamgir, born in January 1983, is a native of Bahawalpur in Pakistan's Punjab province.

The Home Ministry said that Alamgir is known by various names such as Maktab Ameer, Mujahid Bhai, Muhammad Bhai, M Ammar and Abu Ammar Madam.

It was in February 2019 that the JeM orchestrated attack fell on the convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 personnel.

Within days past Pulwama, India had retorted with a severe stroke at the biggest terrorist training camp of JeM deep inside Pakistan's Balakot. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the terror case, has named JeM chief Masood Azhar, his brother Abdul Rauf Asghar, slain terrorist Mohammad Umar Farooq, suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar and other terrorist commanders operating from Pakistan as accused in the case.
