In UP, BJP worked for all, but Samajwadi Party, BSP worked along caste lines: Amit Shah

Amit Shah said his BJP has been working for all communities in UP since 2017 as opposed to the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party when they were in power.

In Uttar Pradesh, Mr Shah promised free scooters for girls and tablets and smartphones for youth interested in higher education if the BJP returns to power.

According to him, the SP and the BSP imposed caste-based divisions on the state under Bua and Bhatija (Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav, respectively).

The first government came to power and worked for one caste; the second for another. Following the election of Narendra Modi, a government was formed that worked for the entire state on the principle of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'," Mr Shah remarked.

The 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh are being contested in seven phases this time. Five of these rounds have already taken place, the last two will be held on March 3 and 7. The results of all these phases will be announced together on March 10.
