New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s daughter Suranya Aiyar said she does not live in the colony from where she was asked to ‘move out’.

"The relevant Residents' Welfare Association (RWA ) in south-east Delhi in a letter asked them to vacate their house over her post against Ram Temple consecration, NDTV reported.

Suranya Aiyar said in a Facebook video that ‘The relevant Residents' Welfare Association is from a colony where I do not live!’

A residents' welfare association in Jangpura, in a letter accused Suranya of ‘hate speech’w while urging her to become a good citizen.

The association claimed residents of the colony included those who had come to India from Pakistan after partition.

It all began after the 49-year-old in a Facebook post on January 20 declared that she was fasting, protesting against the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony.

She said it was her way of expressing love and sorrow for the fellow Muslim citizens.

Reacting to her stance on Ram Temple consecration ceremony, the RWA said , ‘What Ms Aiyar said through social media was unbecoming of an educated person, who should have understood that the Ram Mandir was being built after 500 years and that too after 5-0 Supreme Court verdict’.

Responding to the association’s letter she said ‘I made a spiritual presentation of my own pain about this by fasting peacefully in my home’.
