Hyderabad: Mosque vandalised in Kismatpur, tension grips area
text_fieldsHyderabad: Tension prevailed in Kismatpur under Rajendranagar limits late on Wednesday night, April 29, after unidentified individuals allegedly broke into a mosque and vandalised religious materials, prompting police to deploy additional forces to the area.
The incident at Masjid-e-Bilal came to light around 11.30 pm, when it was found that the intruders had damaged copies of the Quran and other religious books kept inside the mosque.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig, who visited the site, said the intruders had forcibly entered the premises and deliberately damaged religious materials. Following the incident, the Masjid-e-Bilal committee lodged a complaint with the police, demanding the registration of a case and immediate action against those responsible.
Senior police officials rushed additional personnel to the locality to prevent any escalation of tension and stepped up patrolling across Rajendranagar. Special teams have also been formed to trace and apprehend the accused, police said.
