Hindus must not celebrate Christians' New Year: BJP MLA
text_fieldsHyderabad: The BJP MLA from Hyderbad’s Goshamahal constituency in Telangana, T Raja Singh, called on Tuesday that Hindus must not celebrate New Year. Such are not in accordance with Hindu customs or the calendar, Siasat reported.
He said that the New Year is a big conspiracy hatched by Western countries, and Hindus are falling into the trap, forcing it to the next generations.
Raja Singh said that there is this trend in Hindu youth to turn to pubs, bars and resorts to welcome the new year every year. He claimed that January 1 is not the new year for Hindus but for Christians. For Sanatanis, it is during the Ughadi festival and Chaitra Shukla Pratipada.
He advised the Hindu youth to focus on protecting the Hindu Dharma. “Instead of speeding and dying on the road while celebrating New Year, youngsters should sacrifice their lives for Hindu dharma and ‘Love Jihad’,” the MLA said.

“It is a big conspiracy hatched by Western countries. We are falling into the trap and also forcing it on the next generations. January 1 is the new year for Christians and not for Sanathanis (Hindus). I don’t know why people are welcoming the new year in other communities. Our New Year begins from Ugadi festival and chaitra shukla pratipada. Instead of speeding and dying on the road while celebrating New Year, youngsters should sacrifice their lives for Hindu dharma and ‘Love Jihad’,” Sisat quoted the Hindutva leader.
