Chennai: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Archana Patnaik announced on Saturday that Tamil Nadu's final electoral roll will be published on February 17, 2026. The state is currently conducting a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls as directed by the Election Commission of India.

The draft electoral roll, which listed voters who submitted enumeration forms, was released on December 19, 2025. Citizens were given a period from December 19, 2025, to January 30, 2026, to file claims and objections. During this window, eligible individuals whose names were missing, as well as those turning 18, could apply for inclusion using Form-6 along with a declaration form. Those seeking to object to inclusions or request deletions submitted Form-7, while corrections to personal details, address changes, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) updates, or disability identification required Form-8.

A total of 34,75,717 applications, both online and offline, were received across the state during this period. All claims and objections are now being processed at the district level by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) through prescribed verification procedures. Once eligibility and validity are confirmed, necessary inclusions, deletions, and corrections will be finalized, paving the way for the publication of the updated roll on February 17.

The CEO emphasized that this final list will serve as the official voter database for upcoming elections. The Election Commission has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a comprehensive, accurate, and inclusive electoral roll, urging citizens to check their details upon release to prevent issues during polls.
