Bengaluru: The Karanataka Congress announced its ambitious Bus Yatra campaign in Belagavi to launch on Wednesday. Congress's chief in the state, DK Shivakumar unveiled the Prajadhwani campaign logo and issued an attack on the ruling BJP government over its Operation Kamala, NDTV reported.

The chief of the party, which is determined to remove the incumbent BJP government from the state in the upcoming elections, said that the operation is immoral and unconstitutional.

Shivakumar said Karnataka's progress was never BJP's priority but the rampant looting through 40% commission. BJP forgot 90 per cent of the promises they made in the 2018 elections and was busy concentrating on communal politics and paralyzing policies, he alleged.

Leader of Opposition in the state, Siddaramaiah, said that the Bus Yatra campaign is going to be launched to highlight the state government's corruption as well as to expose its lies. He highlighted the "failed policies" of the 'double engine government', NDTV quoted.

There will be Yatras in all districts, and due to time constraints, they will be led by two different groups led by Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah and in multiple phases.

The first phase of the campaign will see Siddaramaiah in Uttara Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka while Shivakumar in the old Mysuru region. In the second phase, the former will work with Dakshina Kannada and the latter in Uttara Karnataka.

According to Siddaramaiah, the Kannada people are fed up with the current BJP government because of its hate and revenge politics. The law and order machinery is derailed, and people are unable to dwell freely, he said.

He claimed that Karnataka became second in most farmer suicides in the country because of the BJP. BJP's eye in 40% commission led to the death of more than 3.5 lakhs of Kannada people during the pandemic. It also forced innocent contractors to suicide. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is a puppet in the hands of the BJP high command, while the state's aspirations and its people's voices were suppressed, Siddaramaiah charged.
