Delhi Police to train teachers on handling bomb threats in schools
text_fieldsNew Delhi: In response to a surge in hoax bomb threats causing panic among schools, Delhi Police is set to train teachers and staff to handle such emergencies effectively, an official announced on Monday.
The police, in collaboration with the Education Department, will organize a seminar for teachers from both government and private schools, aiming to equip them with skills to manage crises.
The training will focus on strategies to remain calm, respond effectively, and coordinate with law enforcement during bomb threats in schools, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam.
Additionally, the seminar will address awareness about cybercrimes, acknowledging the role of digital platforms in propagating hoax threats.
Over the past 10 days, multiple schools in Delhi have been targeted by hoax bomb threats, leading to disruptions in classes and large-scale search operations involving multiple agencies.
This initiative seeks to empower educators with the knowledge and preparedness needed to ensure the safety and security of students and school premises.
