New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister has been summoned for questioning in the liquor policy scam. The CBI is investigating the now-scrapped alcohol sales policy and has already arrested former deputy CM Manish Sisodia in February.

Sources told NDTV that Kejriwal has been asked to appear for questioning on Sunday. Agency also claimed to have uncovered fresh evidence and has grounds to question the chief minister now. This is the first time in recent times a CM has been summoned by a central agency for investigation.

The CBI said that CM is being called on Sunday not to disrupt his work. Kejriwal hasn't commented on the summoning.

Senior party leader Sanjay Singh said not a single leader of the AAP will be intimidated by these motivated charges. "Many of our ministers, leaders, and members have been targeted in the past. Our fight against the most corrupt government of PM Modi will go on."

Last year, the Delhi government implemented a policy that ended its control over the sale of liquor and gave advantages to private retailers. The CBI has alleged the involvement of top officials in the AAP government in the swindle. The agency claimed that crores were paid in favour of the policy.
