The Delhi government on Sunday ordered the Delhi police to lodge FIRs against four airlines, Indigo, Vistara, SpiceJet and AirAsia, for transporting 130 passengers from Maharashtra without RT-PCR reports.

"The Delhi government has directed the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) police station to lodge FIRs against IndiGo, Spicejet, Vistara and AirAsia," the Delhi Chief Minister's Office said.

The action would be taken under the prescribed norms to combat the pandemic of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the apex authority in the fight against Covid. The DDMA had earlier made the RT-PCR tests mandatory for all passengers from Maharashtra to Delhi. While those found positive shall be quarantined at home/hospital for ten days, those with a negative report shall be placed in quarantine for 14 days.
