COVID-19: India records 6,563 fresh cases, 132 deaths in 24 hours

COVID-19: India records 6,563 fresh cases, 132 deaths in 24 hours

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday informed that India has reported 6,563 new fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours. With 132 new deaths reported, the death toll in the country has risen to 4,77,554.

8,077 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovery to 3,41,87,017. India's recovery rate currently stands at 98.39 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

The active caseload in the country is presently 82,267, the lowest in 572 days. Active cases constitute 0.24 per cent of the country's total positive cases; the lowest since the onset of the pandemic.

On the vaccination front, 15,82,079 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. With this, India's vaccination coverage has reached 137.67 crores as of Monday morning. Furthermore, 17.99 crore balance and unutilised vaccines are remaining with states and union territories to be administered, the health ministry added.
