Court extends Sisodia's CBI custody till March 6

New Delhi: A city court here sent former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to the CBI's custody again till March 6. Sisodia was arrested over his alleged involvement in the Delhi liquor policy scam, The Indian Express reported.

During the hearing, Sisodia alleged that the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) mentally harassed him. He said that the central probe agency asked the same questions every day from 8 am, but there were no documents existed.

The court posted Sisodia's bail hearing to March 10.

In the meantime, Arvind Kejriwal attacked BJP with the case of a BJP MLA's son being caught with Rs 8 crore in cash in Karnataka. He said that when a BJP MLA's son was caught with a large amount of money, Manish Sisodia was arrested instead. Corruption doubles in a 'double engine' government, and the nation and Karnataka need a 'new-engine' government.

Sisodia moved Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court for regular bail after he was arrested this week over alleged irregularities in the capital's liquor excise policy. Sisodia had moved the Supreme Court earlier, but the apex court refused to intervene, asking him to pursue available legal remedies at the lower courts instead of directly approaching the highest court as it would 'set a very wrong precedent'. Sisodia was arrested Sunday after an eight-hour interrogation.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said he was arrested over 'evasive replies'. The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court then gave the CBI custody of Sisodia for five days.

Sisodia, who held the Delhi government's excise and education portfolios, among others, resigned from the cabinet and as deputy Chief Minister on Tuesday after the Supreme Court refused to entertain his plea.
