The computer science student, identified as Shivam Dey from Madhubani in Bihar, left a suicide note in the HMR hostel room, according to the police.
As police have taken the body for post-mortem examination, a forensic team inspected the room.

‘If you are reading this, I am dead. My death is my own decision. Nobody is involved in this. I have been planning this for a year,’ the note read.
Alongside saying in the note that he had not been attending classes for two years, he urged authorities to refund fees to his family.
Offering to donate his organs, the miserable student called for correcting the education system ‘If this country wants to become great, then first of all, the education system has to be corrected’.
His grieving family alleged that the University did not inform them of the student’s long absence from classes.
Police said ‘The matter is under probe and every aspect will be thoroughly examined.’
In a similar incident in the university earlier in July, a second-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) student died by suicide in the women's hostel room.
The student accused two faculty members of humiliation and mental harassment, which triggered protests on the campus leading to the arrest of two staff members.
