Karnataka : Two Constables, deployed at the residence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai as security officers, from the Karnataka police were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly running a drug ring in Bengaluru, and selling ganja.

Shivakumar and Santhosh of the Koramangala police station have been deputed to guard the R T Nagar residence of Bengaluru's Chief Minister Bommai.

Police say the accused obtained drugs from drug dealers and sold them to customers.

For fear of suspicion, the accused policemen had received drugs through Dunzo near CM Bommai's residence.

A dispute erupted over payment while they were receiving the drugs.

On suspicion, the accused were arrested after receiving a parcel of 'ganja' near CM Bommai's home.

The accused constables were in plain clothes when they were arrested.

In the investigation, they found out the purchase was made from Amjad Khan and Akhil Raj -- two of the most wanted drug traffickers. An investigation has been launched by the police.

Sources indicate that the police have taken two drug peddlers into custody and questioned them.
