New Delhi: A content creator has alleged that he was offered a large sum of money to run a campaign criticising the ongoing student protests at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak controversy and presenting the government in a positive light.

The youth, Rupesh Yadav, made the claim in a video posted on his Instagram account. He said he received an email around 3 a.m. from a media agency named Aevora Communications offering a paid campaign worth Rs. 40,000 for two Instagram reels.

According to Yadav, the agency said it would provide the script and other details for the campaign. He alleged that the proposed content was aimed at having him speak as a student and criticise the current protests and the Opposition.

He claimed the campaign asked him to portray student movements in Delhi, including the Cockroach Janata Party protest, in a negative manner and to suggest that the Opposition was destroying the future of the country’s children.

Yadav also alleged that he was asked to speak about the government’s development work and welfare schemes, and to compare the current administration’s achievements with previous governments. He said the agency even promised to provide old video clips from the eras of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

While the source of the campaign has not been officially confirmed, Yadav alleged in the video that it appeared to be BJP-linked PR work. He ended the video by questioning where such large payments to actors and creators were coming from and whether taxpayers’ money was being used for such promotional campaigns.
