Ahmedabad: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that the tradition of raids was started by the Congress and the BJP-led Centre is now following it. "The tradition of raids was started by Congress, BJP is following that path...CBI, ED, and IT work on the whims of the government."

He added that Mahatma Gandhi's path of non-violence has been taken over by bulldozers.

He was speaking after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted multiple raids against many relatives of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in Delhi and Bihar in connection with the alleged land-for-job scam. Over 15 locations are being searched, reported ANI.

On March 10, Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti's residence was searched. RJD's leader and former MLA Abu Dojana in Bihar were also raided. The residence of Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was also on the list. The ED carried out these searches under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after filing an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) taking cognisance of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
