Congress shouldnt target Ambani and Adani for everything: Hardik Patel

New Delhi: Patidar's leader in Gujarat, Hardik Patel, who has quit Congress while assembly elections in the state are around, slammed the party for constantly attacking industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, NDTV reports.

He said on Thursday that the industrialists came to the top through hard work and, therefore, they should not be targeted just because they are from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state. Congress should not 'take out their anger" on these industrialists, he said.

He stated that he wasted three years of his political career working for Congress, and had he were not in the party, he could have served Gujarat better. Neither he got an opportunity to work for the state nor Congress gave him any, he said.

Quitting the party, he had written in his resignation letter that senior leaders were distracted by their mobile phones while Congress in Gujarat was more interested in supplying with "chicken sandwiches". This was seen as an apparent dig at Rahul Gandhi.

However, Congress had called him an opportunist and accused him of being in touch with the BJP for six years in order to get the police cases against him regarding the quota row withdrawn. But Patel had declined that he was inching to join BJP.
