Common man's quality of life will improve this year: Study

New Delhi: An IANS-C Voter survey has revealed that 37.4 per cent respondents feel that the quality of life of the common man will improve by next year as 2020's pandemic has greatly affected the income of individuals.

However, 21.7 per cent of the respondents said that the quality of life of a common Indian will remain the same, while 25.8 per cent of the respondents opined that the quality of life will get deteriorated further in the coming days. A 15 per cent of respondents suggested that they cannot respond on the subject.

Study shows that lives of people from the largely unorganized sectors have been affected by coronavirus and it brought up massive instability to their lives. However, organized sectors are also affected by pandemic in segments of economic spectrum. This has led to massive job losses and shutting down of businesses.

The government announced some measures in 2020. Several economists and industrial bodies have also demanded few side measures to put up more money in people's hand by boosting economy.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey 2020-21, in the Parliament on Friday. As per that the GDP of India is likely to contract by 7.7 per cent in FY21.

Survey also suggested that the Indian economy would grow at over 11 per cent in the next fiscal.

The survey consists of sample size of 4,000 plus. The fieldwork regarding the survey was done on the third-fourth week of January 2021. "Expectations from the Union Budget" is the theme of the survey.
