Chinese military claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of China's territory
text_fieldsDays after India rejected Beijing's objection to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state, the Chinese military has reaffirmed its claim over Arunachal Pradesh, referring to the region as an "inherent part of China's territory."
The spokesman for the Chinese Defense Ministry, Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, stated that the southern area of Xizang (also known as Tibet) is a natural part of China's territory. He also mentioned that Beijing "never acknowledges and firmly opposes" the "so-called Arunachal Pradesh illegally established by India." This information was reported by official media.
Zhang made the remarks in response to India's enhancement of military readiness through the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh, according to a report published on the Chinese Defence Ministry's website on Friday.
India has dismissed China's territorial assertions regarding Arunachal Pradesh, affirming that the state is an inseparable part of the nation.
