CBI closure report in National Games scam case rejected by Court
text_fieldsRanchi: The special CBI court in Ranchi has ordered the investigative agency to carry out further investigation after rejecting the CBI's closure report that was presented to it in the National Games corruption case.
Based on the Legislative Assembly Committee's report, petitioners Surya Singh Besra and Pankaj Kumar Yadav contested the CBI's closure report, which was filed last year, and cited lack of proof.
The agency was instructed to proceed with the investigation by the special CBI court following their hearing. The order was received on September 10, but it wasn't made public until Friday, the New Indian Express reported.
After the Jharkhand High Court's ruling on the National Games scam, the CBI assumed control of the case from the ACB. The 34th National Games were conducted in Ranchi, where misappropriation of Rs 28.34 crore was discovered after which the ACB filed an FIR.
