Mumbai: A 76-year-old British broadcast engineer working on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 coverage was found dead in a hotel room in south Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased, Jan William Langford, had been in India on a work assignment with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for IPL matches. He was found unconscious in his hotel room on Monday morning, following which the hotel management rushed him to Bombay Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to officials from Marine Drive police station, the post-mortem examination did not reveal any suspicious findings. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and further enquiries are currently underway.
