BJP to send 40,000 letters to voters ahead of bypoll in West Bengal
text_fieldsThe BJP's West Bengal unit is sending personalised letters to voters of Bhabanipur ahead of the bypoll to be held on September 30. The programme, led by Union minister of state for education Dr Subash Sarkar, is trying to reach out to voters and draw support for the right-wing candidate Priyanka Tibrewal. Over 40,000 inland letters shall be delivered in support of the candidate before polling on September 30.
The letters shall appeal for the voters to vote for the party candidate to save the state from the 'misrule' of TMC's Mamata Banerjee. It will also tell voters of Tibrewal and her fight for justice for post-poll violence victims. Tibrewal had taken cases of post-poll violence to the Calcutta High Court and managed to get the court to call for a CBI investigation into the murder of Abhijeet Sarkar and constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
"Through the inland letter, we will tell the voters that Mamata di is destroying West Bengal with each passing day. They must defeat her in Bhabanipur bypoll to save the state from her misrule. People of Nandigram had done it, now it is time for Bhabanipur voters," a party leader said.
"We will tell the voters that Tibrewal is a daughter of West Bengal and how she fought for the victims of post-poll violence," another BJP leader said.
Amit Malviya has claimed that the BJP will defeat CM in Bhabanipur. "BJP will create another history by defeating Chief Minister Banerjee for the second consecutive time within a five months period. We are contesting the Bhabanipur bypoll to win and will win," the BJP West Bengal co-in charge said.
BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh has alleged that the CM has realised that she might lose the elections as she is facing the toughest fight. "Presence of all the ministers of Mamata cabinet in Bhabanipur tells you that she is not on the strong pitch," the former chief of the party's West Bengal unit said.
