Patna: One more BJP legislator in Bihar called Muslims "anti-nationals" and "unfaithful" in the Assembly on Monday.

Shailendra's remarks were followed by protests from RJD and AIMIM members inside the well and a demand that the Speaker expunge the remarks.

Mahboob Alam, a member of the CPI-ML, raised a lot of objections to this statement, and said he would not return to his seat until Shailendra apologizes.

BJP MLAs began chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans, while Shailendra clarified that he intended his statement for those that object to singing 'Vande Mataram' as the national anthem.

Earlier, an AIMIM leader insisted that he objected to singing Vande Mataram.

The BJP lawmaker is second in the list of lawmakers to make controversial remarks. Hari Bhushan Thakur previously argued that the state and Centre should withdraw voting rights from Muslims, causing a great deal of controversy in and outside the house.

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, also raised objections to the statement, saying no one has the right to attack any leader, individual, or community like that. The Speaker has the authority to remove such statements from proceedings, he added.
