Arvind Kejriwal receives insulin in Tihar as sugar levels peak

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal received insulin at Tihar on Monday night after his blood sugar levels rose to 320.
The jailed AAP leader earlier criticised the Tihar administration for not providing him with the jab.
However, the Tihar jail administration previously rejected Kejriwal’s accusations, saying during a video consultation with specialists at AIIMS the issue of insulin was not raised.
Responding to the development Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said: ‘Today it is clear that the Chief Minister was right, he needed insulin. But the officials under the BJP's central government were deliberately not treating him. Tell me BJP people! If insulin is not needed then why are you giving it now? Because the whole world is cursing them.’
Meanwhile, a city court asked AIIMs to form a medical board to evaluate the chief minister’s health and requirement of insulin in particular.
The court also pointed out discrepancies in his dietary regimen between home-cooked food he eats and doctor-prescribed food.
Writing to Tihar jail superintendent on Monday, Kejriwal rejected the jail administration’s claim that he did not raise the need for insulin during his consultations with doctors.
He said that he raised the matter repeatedly over the course of 10 days. The AAP leadership earlier alleged a conspiracy to harm Kejriwal by rejecting him insulin.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate alleged that Kejriwal was taking sugary foods regularly as part of attempt to exploiting health for a legal advantage.
"I showed my high sugar levels to every doctor who came to see me. I showed them that there were three peaks in the sugar level every day -- between 250-320," Kejriwal reportedly wrote.
Kejriwal claimed that his fasting sugar level was between 160 and 200 every day, adding that ‘Almost every day, I demanded insulin. Then how could you make such a statement that I never raised the issue of insulin?’
