Greater Noida: Officials of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Monday said that they have undertaken an anti-encroachment drive in Bisrakh and Patwadi, on an area worth Rs 65 crore covering 33,000 square metre.

Public relations officer of GNIDA, Arvind Kumar said, "People had constructed boundary walls in empty plots covering large portions. The drive was carried out to ensure a control on illegal encroachments. The identities of the colony residents are unknown".

In the presence of police officers, K R Verma, deputy general manager (health/projects) along with his team of officials oversaw the encroachment drive, according to the Indian Express.

The four-hour drive saw five bulldozers dismantle the encroachments. GNIDA Chief Executive Officer Surendra Singh has warned that stern action will be taken against those who encroach on land acquired or notified by GNIDA.
