Lucknow: After the exam paper leak of police constable recruitment and following the cancellation of the exam and the developments that followed, the Uttar Pradesh government ordered the cancellation of another exam after reports of the paper leak. On Saturday, the Yogi Adityanath government cancelled the preliminary exam conducted on February 11 for the recruitment of Review Officers and Assistant Review Officers, PTI reported.

Chief Minister Adityanath ordered a retest of the exams within six months. The government appointed the Special Task Force (STF) of the state police to probe the matter.

A press statement issued by the government said that the CM ordered to cancel the exam of Review Officers (RO) and Assistant Review Officers (ARO) held by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on February 11.

"In this examination, complaints were received about some questions of the question paper allegedly going viral on social media, in connection with which a release was issued by the government to provide evidence of facts related to influencing the examination to the general public," read the statement.

"Subsequently, in view of the evidence provided to the government and the report available by the Commission, it has been instructed by the Chief Minister that the examinations of both the sessions of the Review Officers/Assistant Review Officers should be cancelled," it added.

In the paper leak in the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam, STF arrested two accused. STF said in a statement that those caught were alleged members of a gang involved in the question paper leak of the Uttar Pradesh Recruitment and Promotion Board examination on February 17 and 18.
