Ballia (UP) : Police are searching for those behind desecrating Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar statue here.
The Dalit ideologue's 18-year-old statue in Sikandarpur area in Ballia district was seen Wednesday with a broken hand.
Sikandarpur SHO Balendu Bhushan Mishra said that the statue was being repaired.
Additional forces have been put on alert though the situation in the village is said to be normal.
The SHO said that the persons responsible for damaging the statue would be arrested and punished soon.
