All Delhi Metro stations reopen after security restrictions during student protests

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Sunday said all stations across the network have resumed normal operations, restoring both entry and exit for passengers after temporary restrictions put in place during nationwide student protests over the NEET paper leak controversy.
In a post on X, the DMRC confirmed: “Service Update. All stations of the Delhi Metro network are open (both entry and exit) for passenger services.”
Authorities had imposed phased closures and limited entry at several Central Delhi stations amid heightened security around protests near Jantar Mantar. Entry gates at Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat were among those reopened over the weekend as restrictions were gradually lifted.
Earlier, the DMRC had temporarily closed 18 stations, including Lok Kalyan Marg, Patel Chowk, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, ITO, Delhi Gate, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and New Delhi, citing security concerns.
The measures followed large-scale nationwide demonstrations demanding strict action over the alleged NEET paper leaks and calls for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Pradhan resigned on Saturday, saying he was “deeply pained” by recent events and wanted to prevent the situation from being exploited by anti-national elements.
With the DMRC advisory confirming full restoration of services, Delhi Metro operations have returned to normal, easing travel for thousands of commuters.
