Ajit Doval stresses India's commitment to peaceful resolution in Ukraine conflict
text_fieldsRiyadh: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval participated in a two-day conference hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in Jeddah. The conference aims to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and has drawn top security officials from approximately 40 countries.
Notably, Russia has not been invited to the conference.
During the event, Ajit Doval emphasised that India has been actively engaging with both Russia and Ukraine since the inception of the conflict and will continue to be a willing partner in the search for a lasting and comprehensive solution to the crisis. He expressed that India would find immense happiness and satisfaction in achieving such an outcome, reported NDTV.
India's approach has consistently been centred on promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the primary means for achieving peace. Ajit Doval underscored that this approach is the only way forward in resolving the conflict effectively.
He said that any proposal put forth must be acceptable to both Russia and Ukraine to ensure a successful resolution. The challenge lies in not only resolving the current situation but also addressing the consequences of the conflict, necessitating simultaneous efforts on both fronts. Doval stressed the need for substantial groundwork to ensure progress on these fronts.
Earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Japan. During the meeting, PM Modi assured Zelensky of India's commitment to doing everything possible to find a solution to the ongoing conflict.
India's participation in the Saudi-hosted conference reiterates the nation's dedication to contributing to global peace efforts and finding a resolution to the Ukraine conflict. The conference serves as an important platform for countries to collaborate on pursuing diplomatic measures and exploring peaceful solutions to end the crisis.
