New Delhi: Bollywood actor Rimi Sen has sued carmaker Land Rover demanding ₹ 50 crore over alleged defects in her car.

Rimi Sen accused the company of mental harassment over repairs related to the car she purchased from Satish Motors Pvt. Ltd for ₹ 92 lakh in 2020, NDTV reported.

Her car that came with a warranty valid until January 2023 remained largely unused due to covid restrictions.

When the actor began using the car, she claimed to have faced ‘numerous defects’ including issues with the sunroof, sound system, and rear-end camera, NDTV reported.

Sen alleged in her complaint that the malfunctioning rear-end camera caused the car to collide with a pillar on August 25 in 2022.

When she notified the issues, they allegedly sought evidence before addressing issues.

She complained of alleged ‘cycle of repairs’ where one problem was solved just as another emerged.

The actor in her legal notice claimed that the car was defective in manufacturing, adding that it was sent for repairs over ten times, however it still remains faulty causing her mental harassment and inconvenience, according to the report.

Sen demanded compensation of ₹ 50 crore and an additional ₹ 10 lakh to cover legal expenses, alongside seeking to replace the defective car.
