New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday will take out a massive protest in Delhi calling out the arrest of the party leader Arvind Kejriwal, according to NDTV.

Kejriwal was arrested in a corruption case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.

AAP chief refused to appear before the Enforcement Directorate in spite of having received multiple summoning from the agency.

AAP and the Opposition group INDIA bloc accused the government of using the central agencies to target political rivals.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai reportedly said AAP MLAs, and party office-bearers will gather at Shaheedi Park to protest against the BJP.

Representatives of the INDIA bloc will join the protest including candle marches as well as the burning of effigies, according to the report.

The Delhi police have beefed up security in the wake of the protest, and issued traffic guidelines anticipating huge turnout on the streets.

Some AAP supporters were seen carrying huge banners that said "main bhi Kejriwal (I'm also Kejriwal)".

Party workers, declaring to forgo Holi celebrations tomorrow, called for a "gherao" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Tuesday.

On Friday, several of the party’s leaders including Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj were detained from protesting against the arrest.

Arrested on Thursday, Kejriwal was remanded to the ED’s custody till March 28.

The AAP announced Kejriwal will carry out his responsibilities as Chief Minister from inside the jail.
