517 New Covid cases in J&K, 5 deaths

Jammu: Covid cases rise in Jammu & Kashmir as 517 people were tested positive and 5 deaths were reported within a span of 24 hours on Friday taking the toll over 2,000, according to the Health Department officials. Out of the reported cases, 421 patients were reported from the Kashmir division and 96 cases were from the Jammu division.
The deaths reported are 1 from Jammu and 4 from Kashmir respectively thus increasing the death rate to 2,003.
As per the Government order, District Magistrate is yet to confirm whether the educational institutions should go back to the online mode of teaching or not considering the swift spread of the virus.
Around 765 reports from the Jammu division and 2,450 reports from the Kashmir division contribute to 3,215 active cases. To date, coronavirus had infected a total of 131,938 people in Jammu and Kashmir out of which 126,720 had already recovered.
