India reported 18,132 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, marginally lower than yesterday's figure when the country reported the lowest single-day rise (18,166 cases) in nearly seven months.

While in the last 24 hours, India reported 193 deaths, taking the toll to 3,39,71,607.

The week saw cases fall in all major states with the lone exception of Bengal, where a marginal spike of 5% was recorded, as per the daily data received from states.

In Kerala, weekly cases dipped by 17.4% from the previous seven days. The state recorded less than 75,000 cases in the week for the first time since April 11-18.

Meanwhile, the central government has started a campaign dubbed Mission 100 Days to control the spread of Covid-19 infections during the festive season, said people familiar with the matter.

The Centre has been regularly issuing guidelines to states, asking them to intensify containment measures in areas or districts that continue to report high caseloads, such as aggressive testing and strictly marking containment zones. States have also been asked to generate awareness among people so that it becomes a collective effort, especially during the festive season, as new cases have always seen a surge after festivals.

Besides, the active case count has remained below 1% of the total Covid-19 cases since March last year. With 3624 active cases reported in a day, India's active case count stands at 2,27,347 which is 0.67% of the total cases.

The country reported 2,15,63 recoveries, the patients recovered from Covid infection have surged to 2,15,63. As of Monday morning, India's recovery rate stood at 98 per cent, which is also the highest since March 2020.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98 per cent, highest since March 2020, the bulletin showed. With 21,563 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries in the country climbed to 3,32,93,478.

India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the 94 crore-mark, with 66,85,415 vaccine doses administered on Sunday, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. India has so far administered 94,70,10,175 COVID-19 vaccines.
