As the Center has given their approval for theatres to function at 100% occupancy, Yash Raj Films has become one of the first production houses to announces an ambitious slate of films scheduled for release in 2021.

The first film to release under the YRF banner this year will be 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, scheduled for March 19. Big-budget starrrers are also included, such as 'Shamshera' starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt (June 25) and Akshay Kumar's much-awaited period drama 'Prithviraj' which has been allotted the Diwali release slot. 'Prithviraj' also marks the debut of 2017 Miss India pageant winner Manushi Chillar.

Other films on the list include Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee's sequel to the 2005 Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'Bunty Aur Babli' and Ranveer Singh's 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar'. However Shahrukh Khan's ambitious 'Pathan' was not seen, prompting speculation that it had been replaced by 'Prithviraj' and release pushed back to 2022. 'Pathan' is the first film Shahrukh Khan has undertaken after a two year hiatus from films after 'Zero' which was a critical and commercial failure. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
