Kochi: Malayalam superstar Mammootty has urged people not to let age affect their minds, stressing the importance of remaining energetic, adaptable and connected with changing times.

Mammootty was speaking as the chief guest at a special event organised by the ‘Njattuvela’ WhatsApp group in Kochi. His wife, Sulfath, also attended the programme. Discussing the secret behind his youthful outlook, the actor said people should allow age to affect the body, but never let it take hold of the mind. He encouraged people to become “Gen Z” in spirit, saying staying mentally young is essential to avoid becoming disconnected from the times they live in.

Mammootty has also spoken strongly about the importance of young people, describing them as a valuable asset to the country. Supporting student protests in Delhi over the alleged NEET question paper leak and demands for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, he called for young people to be heard, protected and empowered.

Meanwhile, Mammootty’s philanthropic initiatives brought another moment of joy to a family in Vandiperiyar. On Chingam 1, the actor sent festive greetings while siblings Mikhail and Mihok, who were born deaf, took a step towards experiencing the world of sound.

The children received support through the ‘Kathodu Kathoram’ project, jointly implemented by Mammootty-led Care and Share International Foundation and Aluva Rajagiri Hospital. Mammootty also sent the siblings traditional kasavu garments and Maveli-themed shirts, making their Onam celebrations especially memorable.
