Shah Rukh Khan to wear army uniform in Dunki, "excited" to play officer again
text_fieldsMumbai: Shah Rukh Khan will be playing an army officer in the upcoming Rajkumar Hirani film Dunki. In the announcement video of the film, SRK was seen wearing a green t-shirt and fatigue pants to the ones off-duty officers often wear.
A source close to the project told the Times of India that Shah Rukh Khan is "very excited to wear the uniform again." The actor has played a soldier in hit films like Main Hoon Na, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Fauji. "In fact, if you see the announcement video, there are hints there from his fatigue pants to his green t-shirt. It is a look that army guys wear when they are traveling or resting," said the source.
This is the first time SRK is working with Hirani who has directed successful films like 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, and PK. In the announcement video of the film, the filmmaker was heard saying Dunki has comedy, emotions, and romance. He also jokingly told SRK that he has to stop the iconic movement of spreading his arms wide.
In an interview with Deadline, SRK said Dunki is a story of people who want to come back home. "When you finally get the calling. It's a big journey film and goes through different areas around the world and finally comes back home to India."
Dunki is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
