Shah Rukh Khan is credited with redefining what a romantic hero is to the Bollywood audience. After completing 30 years in the film industry, the actor now feels he is too old for romantic films. He said he has no interest in a true rom-com now.

He was speaking to fans on an Instagram live when someone asked if he misses playing characters like Rahul or Raj.

The 56-year-old actor further said he feels awkward when romancing actresses who are way younger than him. He recalled such an instance and said he felt shy as the lady staring opposite him was way younger than him. The Jab Harry Met Sejal actor added that he had to imagine that he is her age.

He further said he doesn't remember the last time he played a Rahul. "Maybe characters like Rahul and Raj are for younger actors".

The iconic actor went on to say he did not imagine being known by these household characters' names at the time of joining the film industry. "There is a part of me in them". He added that now there are a lot of him in Pathaan because he feels like a Pathaan.

Looking back at his three-decade-long career, SRK said no one including his wife and kids realise that it has been 30 years. He revealed that he came to Mumbai hoping to do a maximum of 10 films and stick around for a couple of years. "If things hadn't worked out, I wanted to find a job as a light boy or assisting the director. I was ready to be on anyone's set because cinema inspires me".

Shah Rukh Khan had taken a break of four years from the industry and is now returning to the screens with three movies - Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Pathaan will be the first to hit theatres.
